ASSIGNMENT: Creating a full page ad within Entrepreneur magazine for the new edition of Tim Ferriss' book. Target market: adults ages 24–40. They are well-educated, interested in travel, entrepreneurship and work situations other than the standard 9-to-5 job.
CHALLENGE: The target market may have read the original edition of this book. Communicate that there is new and updated content—well worth the purchase, even if they have already purchased/read the original book.
MY STRATEGY: The 2024 McKinsey’s American Opportunity Survey shows results that 58% of workers have a flexible work arrangement. With this number on the rise, I wanted to appeal to individuals who are interested in a schedule different from the traditional 9-5 model. I knew I had to describe in detail benefits of this expanded version, since many in this particular magazine have either heard of it or read it themselves.
